In the early morning you rip off some legs of a bee, you then use these legs to take the pollen sacs from the pistil of the male flower (left in the picture) and rub them on the ovary of the female flower (right), the result you wish for is that the bud eventually grows into a edible fruit. Now, only if you have trouble finding a bee, or if the bee you caught starts invoking its animal rights, you might use a q-tip or small paintbrush. Mind you, compared with the bee's legs, these are carbon heavy alternatives. And after all, the bee should be doing this anyway, it is only because it is not performing that it will loose its legs.
